Adding and Installing Urdu Language Pack.
Under the “Preferred Languages” section, click on the “Add a Preferred Language” button. Scroll down or use the search bar to find “Urdu Pakistan”. Click on “Urdu Pakistan” to select it and then click on the “Next” button. Windows will now check if the Urdu Language Pack is available for download. If the language pack is available, click on the “Install” button. Windows will download and install the necessary files. After the language pack is successfully installed, you will see a notification informing you of the completion. Usually, it is not required right away, restart your computer if prompted. After your computer restarts, you can switch between input languages by pressing “Windows Key + Space”.

How to install Urdu Fonts?
Install or activate these fonts by using any font manager, personally, I use FontBase Fonts Manager to manage my fonts. To activate fonts inside FontBase load the fonts containing folder as a “Watched Folder”, navigate to the folder location, and select it in this dialogue box. Give it a moment to load, once it loads click on the eye icon on the left sidebar to temporarily activate the fonts inside the folder.
You have to keep in mind that every time you want to use these fonts inside Illustrator you’ll have to open FontBase Fonts Manager first, the reason for this is that FontBase does not install the fonts onto your computer, it temporarily activates them, so it does not affect the efficiency of your computer.
Enabling Indic Support in Illustrator.
This is a very simple and 5 click process to enable Indic Typography in Illustrator. Open Illustrator, go to “Edit” then “Preferences” then click on “Type”. On the next dialogue box look for a checkbox that says “Show Indic Options”. Check this checkbox and then click Ok. Open a new document, switch the input language to Urdu, press “T” for the Type tool, and start typing. If the characters are in the form of boxes then try changing the fonts from the “Character” drop-down on top. You should be able to see Urdu Typography on the screen.
